Jinghong




China, an East Asian country is one of the world’s oldest civilizations. It has a vast cultural history of more than five thousand years and an outstanding natural beauty. On the other hand, this country has remained a comparatively isolated and secluded one, and being a land of mystery, this country is not known to the western half of the world. Jinghong is the capital of Xishuangbanna Dai Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan province, China. Yunnan Province borders Sichuan and Guizhou Provinces to the northeast, Tibet Autonomous Region to the northwest, and Guangxi Province to the west. Xishuangbanna borders Myanmar to the southwest and Laos to the southeast. The population of the city is 363,110, and area is 7'003 square kilometers.
 
The city is limited to the south by Hengduan Shan Mountain Range, Lancang River  passes by Jinghong. Two bridges near the city span this river, which flows south-east towards Laos. Climatically, Jinghong is between the tropical zone of China to the North, and the subtropical further South. The city receives humid monsoon climate, with extensive summer and virtually no winter.
 
Tourist attractions are water splashing festival, Village of Dai ethnic group and diverse other ethnic groups' customs. The Water Festival is the form New Year celebrations take in Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand, Burma, Cambodia and Lao on the day of the full moon of the 11th month of each year. It is simply called the 'Water Festival' because people throw water at one another all over the country.

Jinghong is also known as the town of best geographical environment and has traced its origins back to prehistoric times. Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and can also enjoy its natural beauty concealed by the beautiful landscapes.
