China is a cultural region and ancient civilization in East Asia. China refers to one of the world's oldest civilizations, comprised of states and cultures dating back more than six millennia. The stalemate of the last Chinese Civil War following World War II has resulted in two separate states using the name China, the People's Republic of China PRC, administering mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau and the Republic of China ROC, administering Taiwan and its surrounding islands.
 
Chizhou is a prefecture-level city in Anhui province, also known as the People’s Republic of China. The People's Republic of China, also known as China, P.R.C. and PRC, is a country located mostly in East Asia, with a smaller proportion of its area located in Central Asia. The PRC has a coastline of 14,500 kilometers and borders  Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, India, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Mongolia and  North Korea. It is located in east China, across the basins of the Yangtze River and the Huaihe River.
 
Chizhou borders Anqing to the northwest, Tongling and Wuhu to the northeast, Xuancheng to the east, Huangshan to the southeast, and the province of Jiangxi to the southwest. The city has a population of 1.54 million and area of 8,272 square kilometers. The prefecture-level city of Chizhou administers 4 county-level divisions, including 1 district and 3 counties like Guichi District, Dongzhi County, Shitai County, Qingyang County.

Chizhou, justifiably so, enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers, and is one of the most visited places. It is also said the place of best geographical environment and can trace its origin back to prehistoric times.
