Baoshan

China, an East Asian country is one of the world’s oldest civilizations. It has a vast cultural history of more than five thousand years and an outstanding natural beauty. On the other hand, this country has remained a comparatively isolated and secluded one, and being a land of mystery, this country is not known to the western half of the world. However, China is rapidly developing and has grown in the phase of modernization, with an immense speed and is also welcoming the outer world to interact and do business with them.

Baoshan is a prefecture level city in Southern Yunnan province. The city has 120,000 inhabitants. A prefecture level city is not a city in the strictest sense of the term. It is an administrative unit comprising of an urban core and surrounding rural or less urbanized areas, usually many times the size of the central, built up core. Prefecture level cities have multiple counties, county level cities, and other such sub divisions.

Yunnan is the most southwestern province in China, with the Tropic of Cancer running through its southern part. The province has an area of 394,000 square kilometer, 4.1 percentage of the nation's total. The province borders Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Guizhou Province in the east, Sichuan Province in the north, and Tibet Autonomous Region in the northwest. The province not only has more plant species of tropical, subtropical, temperate and frozen zones than any other province in the country, but also has many ancient, derivative plants, as well as species introduced from foreign countries. Among the 30,000 species of plants in China, 18,000 can be found in Yunnan.

Road construction in Yunnan continues unabated. Over the last years, the province has added more new roads than any other province. Today expressways link Kunming through Dali to Baoshan.
