The memorial has seven exhibition rooms displaying color ink paintings from each period of Xu's career. They include Old Man Moves a Mountain and Cock Crowing in the Rain, oil paintings such as Tianheng 500 Soldiers and Sound of Vertical Flute.
 
There are sketches Xu Beihong drew when he was studying at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris to the portraits of model workers and renowned scholars such as Mountain Forest of the Himalayas and Gandhi. There are photos of Xu' s studio as it was originally arranged. Among the wall hangings are traditional Chinese paintings by Ren Bonian and Qi Baishi, and a photo of Xu with the Indian poet and philosopher Tagore. Xu Beihong collected 1,134 works of the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties up to the May 4th Movement of 1919. There are over 1,286 paintings and calligraphic works of Xu, 10,000 ancient books, stone inscription rubbings, bronze vessel rubbings, and prints. The most precious is a Tang painting Eighty-seven Immortals by Wu Daozi, a famous Tang Dynasty painter, which the master purchased in Hong Kong in 1938 and a replica of Xu studio as it looked, is also found in the new museum.
