Wolong Nature Reserve

China, an East Asian country is one of the world’s oldest civilizations. It has a vast cultural history of more than five thousand years and an outstanding natural beauty. On the other hand, this country has remained a comparatively isolated and secluded one, and being a land of mystery, this country is not known to the western half of the world. However, China is rapidly developing and has grown in the phase of modernization, with an immense speed and is also welcoming the outer world to interact and do business with them.

Wolong Nature Reserve is one of the popular tourist attractions of China. Located approximately 120 kilometers to the northwest direction of Chengdu, the reserve also includes the Giant Panda Research Center. It stretches over an area of over 2,000 square kilometers and is a shelter for endangered species including the snow leopard, golden langur, golden monkey, red panda and musk deer.

The United Nations has declared Wolong as an international biosphere preserve and in addition to the wealth of fauna, 4,000 different types of plants are believed to grow here. The Giant Panda Research Center in Wolong Nature Reserve studies pandas with the aim of improving the panda birth rate and also breeds pandas which are later reintroduced to the wild.

Picturesque with beautiful flowers, wildlife and a breathtaking view of the surrounding countryside, Wolong Nature Reserve is growing as the most pleasant site for tourists to enjoy their vacations. The park boasts the presence of endangered treasures of animals and plants of great interest for the zoologists and botanists respectively.
