Solitary Beauty Peak

China, an East Asian country is one of the world’s oldest civilizations. It has a vast cultural history of more than five thousand years and an outstanding natural beauty. On the other hand, this country has remained a comparatively isolated and secluded one, and being a land of mystery, this country is not known to the western half of the world. However, China is rapidly developing and has grown in the phase of modernization, with an immense speed and is also welcoming the outer world to interact and do business with them.
Guilin is synonymous with limestone hills and in the center of the city is a 152 meter or 500 feet peak known as the pillar under the southern sky or Solitary Beauty Peak. After climbing the flight of 306 steps up the steep incline from the west foot of the hill up to the top, you will be rewarded with beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding hills, the Li River and the town of Guilin. At the foot of the hill is a gate built in the 14th century leading to what once was the home of the nephew of a Ming emperor, but is now the Guangxi Teacher's University.
Solitary Beauty Peak or Duxiu Feng Peak stands in solitary grace at the center of the ancient Mansion of Prince Jingjiang, a noble family in the Ming Dynasty. Towering from the ground it is esteemed as the Sky-Supporting Pillar in the South. During the Southern Song Dynasty, some 1500 years ago, Yan Yanzhi, governor of Guilin, wrote the line, none can surpass this solitary peak in beauty, hence the name Solitary Beauty Peak.
At the foot of the peak are Dushu or Study Rock, Taiping or Peace Rock and Yueya or Crescent Pond. On the eastern side of the hill there are many inscriptions from the Qing dynasty, such as Southern Sky-supporting Pillar and Purple Gown and Golden Belt.
China is a popular travel destination for visitors and globe trotters from all over the world who appreciate its beautiful landscapes, rich culture, delicious local cuisine, hospitality and safety. Quality is China's top priority.
