Li Village

China, an East Asian country is one of the world’s oldest civilizations. It has a vast cultural history of more than five thousand years and an outstanding natural beauty. On the other hand, this country has remained a comparatively isolated and secluded one, and being a land of mystery, this country is not known to the western half of the world. However, China is rapidly developing and has grown in the phase of modernization, with an immense speed and is also welcoming the outer world to interact and do business with them.

The Li people first settled in Hainan over 2,000 years ago and this traditional style Li village is located 2 kilometers or 1 mile from Tongshi. The villagers thatched homes look like pyramids or boats with reeds hanging from the roof. Visits to the village usually include an opportunity to sample traditional food and wine.

Maominxincun, the mountain Li village in China's Hainan Province, in which 31 Li families have all been well put up in new spacious brick houses. In the last seven years, a complete change of things has virtually been brought about in the life of most Lis like those in Maominxincun. For an income growth there are already over one million, about 85 percent, out of 1.20 million Lis who have been helped out of poverty in today's Hainan.
