Jade Buddha Temple

China, an East Asian country is one of the world’s oldest civilizations. It has a vast cultural history of more than five thousand years and an outstanding natural beauty. On the other hand, this country has remained a comparatively isolated and secluded one, and being a land of mystery, this country is not known to the western half of the world. However, China is rapidly developing and has grown in the phase of modernization, with an immense speed and is also welcoming the outer world to interact and do business with them.

The Jade Buddha Temple, built in 1882 is located on Anyuan Road. The temple has two jade statues of the Sakyamuni Buddha, one seated and one reclining, brought from Myanmar. The Recumbent Buddha is 96 centimeters long, lying on the right side with the right hand supporting the head and the left hand placed on the left leg, this shape is called the lucky repose while the seated Buddha is 1.9 meters tall and was carved out of a single piece of white jade and wears a robe inlaid with precious jewels. This temple also houses numerous rare paintings, ancient sculptures and Buddhist scriptures.

Although the history of this temple is not very long, the old-time and classical architectural style makes the temple unique and inimitable in this modern city. Mahavira Hall, Devajara Hall and the Jade Buddha Tower make up the major structure of the temple and at sides are the Kwan-yin Dian Hall, the Zen Tang Hall, the Amitabha Dian Hall, the Dining-Room and the Recumbent Buddha Hall.

The Jade Buddha Temple is definitely one of the popular tourist attractions in China. It is worth paying a visit while touring the country. This place will leave a pleasing and unforgettable memory and justify the proud cultural tradition of China.
