Divine Rock Temple

China, an East Asian country is one of the world’s oldest civilizations. It has a vast cultural history of more than five thousand years and an outstanding natural beauty. On the other hand, this country has remained a comparatively isolated and secluded one, and being a land of mystery, this country is not known to the western half of the world. However, China is rapidly developing and has grown in the phase of modernization, with an immense speed and is also welcoming the outer world to interact and do business with them.
Divine Rock Temple is located on the Fangshan Mountain at about 78 kilometers from the Jinan city. The temple was constructed in the Northern Wei period and rose to importance in the Tang and Song dynasties. During dynastic times, the temple had more than 40 halls and over 500 rooms. Today, the temple is famous for its main hall, the Thousand Buddha Hall, which houses 3 terracotta statues of Buddha and 40 different clay Luohan statues. These statues are famous for their realistic form and are said to be the best in the province.
In the western section of the temple is a Forest of Stupas made from 167 pagodas built in honor of leading monks who have passed away. Other buildings include the Treasure Hall of Great Hero, Bell and Drum Towers, pavilions, pagodas and stone steles all of which are of great historical and artistic value.
The Divine Rock Temple is one of the preeminent, historical and potential tourism destinations that are located in the Jinan city of China.
