Beaches in Hong Kong

China, an East Asian country is one of the world’s oldest civilizations. It has a vast cultural history of more than five thousand years and an outstanding natural beauty. On the other hand, this country has remained a comparatively isolated and secluded one, and being a land of mystery, this country is not known to the western half of the world. However, China is rapidly developing and has grown in the phase of modernization, with an immense speed and is also welcoming the outer world to interact and do business with them.

Hong Kong's rocky coastline has many pleasant beaches that are perfect for a daytrip away from the city. More popular beaches can be found on the south side of the island where the Repulse Bay and Stanley Main Beach can be tremendously busy, but also offer wakeboarding and windsurfing opportunities. Although smaller, St. Stephen's Beach also has water sports.

On the east coast, Big Wave Bay is a mecca for Hong Kong's surfers. Shek O village has an often-deserted beach close to a mini golf course and bikes are also obtainable on lease. Dining options are grand in this isolated Hong Kong village. The out-of-the-way islands of Lantau and Lamma have dirt free and effortlessly reachable beaches. Other well-liked beaches can also be found in Sai Kung and Clear Water Bay.
