Badaling Great Wall

China, an East Asian country is one of the world’s oldest civilizations. It has a vast cultural history of more than five thousand years and an outstanding natural beauty. On the other hand, this country has remained a comparatively isolated and secluded one, and being a land of mystery, this country is not known to the western half of the world. However, China is rapidly developing and has grown in the phase of modernization, with an immense speed and is also welcoming the outer world to interact and do business with them.

75 kilometers northwest of Beijing, the Badaling Great Wall is characteristic of the wall during the Ming dynasty from 1368 to 1644AD. This section of the Great Wall attracts most of the tourists as they take pleasure in walking along the stretches of the wall and also for the reason that the gigantic feat of construction is most exciting. Guard rails and cable cars make it a safe and almost trouble-free way to see the Great Wall. The government has restored this part of the wall so that every tower and turret stands just as it did when the Mongols overran the country 700 years back. Observation holes are available on the upper part the battlements.

Badaling is also the external gate to Juyoung pass, a planned security post for Beijing during the Ming dynasty. This section of the wall in addition houses a museum of Chinese history, which includes a photo gallery and the Great Wall Circle Vision Theater, a 360 degree amphitheater which shows a 15 minute film on the history and legends of the wall.

Badaling is definitely one of the popular tourist attractions in China. It is worth paying a visit while touring the country. This place will leave a pleasing and unforgettable memory and justify the proud cultural tradition of China.
